The Red Divinity of Cinderhill
The Dragon of Cinderhill is -by far- the most complex larp prop we've seen.
Its built on top of a full sized Ponsse S15 harvester machine and when completed its hulking up to 26 meters long with a wing-span of a moderate jet. This project should be every nerds dream come true; complex machine needs to be created to be life-like.
Tasks include metal work, electronics, electric design, software design, pneumatics, hydraulics and harvester-related special expertise. Should you be interested of participating our dragon building teams work, let us know.
Please see the dragon brochyre (v3. PDF 4.6 MB) which will outline the project rather well. We sincerely hope that reading this dragon document will spark you the interest of helping in creation or at very least to play in Dragonbane to meet it in person.
Dragon partners
The dragon would not be even remotely possibly without our wide partner network. Most of the parts, tools and materials are provided by our partners. For a layman it could be slightly hard to grasp the vastness of materials you need to complete a project of this size. A short summary would include:
- Thousands of screws and bolts (acquired)
- Tons of metals in varying formats (mostly acquired)
- Hundreds of hydraulics and pneumatics components (acquired)
- Dozens of LCD screens and cameras for drivers 'views' (acquired)
- Hundreds of kilos of elastic mass for skin (acquired)
- A custom built flamethrower (tested to work ;)
- Audio equipments enough for a small disco (acquired)
- Tens of kilometers of varying cables and wires (in process)
- Tons of elastics, including rubber (partly acquired)
- Ten computers (partly acquired)
- Round about hundred measurement devices (partly acquired)
Thousands of hours of work time and expertise. And all of this needs to be done in slightly less than a year.
