Bringing your own instruments

Any player having a suitable instrument, considering the faction he or she is going to be in, may bring his/her instrument along. Many of the instruments will be provided by the organizers, some of the instruments may be manufactured in-game from the provided materials. The propping of the instrument is to be done to suit the world of the Dragonbane. If you are planning to bring your instrument consider if it is worth the risk to bring with you an instrument that has monetary or emotional value. We can't guarantee that your instrument won't be damaged by dust, smoke, humidity or careless co-players. All participants are of course asked to be considerate of valuable props, but accidents do happen. For our policy on stealing in the game, please refer to the FAQ under Summary.

Instructions for making your own Dragonbane instrument has been published. If someone is capable of making large drums please contact the Dragonbane audio team.

Acoustic guitars should be propped properly. Any instrument from the guitar instrument family is better than a basic guitar. Lutes and mandolins are preferred over guitars and steel strings are preferred over nylon ones. Nylon strings should be painted and made not to look so plastic. The only faction playing guitar-like instruments is the Dragontamers. A tamer guitarist has had his instrument decorated with souvenirs and painted it personally, it may have been heavily customized for proper and personal sound. The instrument has been carried along on many adventures and is not in its best shape, even though many may have been the efforts made for patching the defects. A guitar missing strings is a sad but common sight. Strings may be a valuable trade item. A lousy looking guitar (in a sense it's not personally decorated, innovative and original) may get frowned upon by fellow musicians; a new tune of humorous tone might be written and sung around campfire ...

Didgeridoos might be ok for Cinderhillians. Please check with the audio team if you have any special instrument you would like to bring along or have ideas. You can also state your interest in bringing an instrument when signing up The Dragonbane team would be happy to discuss the music of Dragonbane and answer your questions.
