Dragontamer Game - Dragon & Lambs
The traditional Dragon and lambs game is very popular among the dragontamers. Tamer players who have even a little of woodcrafting skills are recommended to craft one of these games.
How to make a gameboard
Materials
- A wooden plank, preferably at tleast three centimeters thick.
- About one metre of round wooden rod, must be slightly thinner than the holes made into the plank
Tools
- A power drill, preferably a pressdrill.
- A handplane to smoothen the plank.
- A handsaw or a bandsaw to form the plank.
- Grinding equipment (optional).
- A sharp chisel.
Note: A chisel is sharpened well enough if it could be used as a razor.
The Dragon and sheeps board is basically a piece of wood which is as long as it is wide with 33 holes of equal depth set according to the picture below. Smoothen the plank with the plane on both sides and drill the holes, smoothen the edges of the holes and the surface. You can make decorational cuts on the board with a good chisel. A chisel is also good for cleaning away ugly marks left by a saw, a grinder can also be used. Note that the board can be of almost any shape.
The playing pieces are short pieces of round wooden rod all cut to equal length with smoothened edges. We have used pieces nine millimeters in diameter and four centimeters long.
