Dragonscale Armour

The Cinderhillian dragonscale armour is made to resemble the Dragon's skin as much as possible.

Making dragonscale armour

Making a dragonscale armour takes quite a lot of time, but doesn't cost almost anything as the cow horns used as material are usually a waste product of slaughter houses.

The making starts with boiling a sufficient number of horns. Boiling raw horns indoors is not recommended because of the smell. Ther horns in the picture below have already undergone two or three boilings.


 

The next phase is to cut off the point of the horn (picture below)

and then split it. (see picture below)

The points must be removed to weaken the horns' internal structure or else even boiling won't soften the horn enough for it to be molded. After sawing the horn pieces must be boiled once more to soften them so that you can flatten the halved horns simply by pressing them between two pieces of wood.
