Creating a world you have never seen

With Dragonbane we want to create a world with you, the participant,  that seems real - a world that none of us have ever seen before. The best way to reach this goal is to create a fiction based on a coherent and believable culture within which the event is cradled. Although the three fractions clearly have separate cultures, they all exist within the greater culture of Valenor. The world as a whole is what makes the factions connected and not just arbitrary and generic larp groups.

The culture group is working hard to create a cultural context for you to develop your characters within; cultures with specific art, games, beliefs, rituals and value systems. Cultures that are a good base for you as participants to create a living world from. We know we only do a faction of the work, since the culture we propose to you will not be anything as long as it only exists on paper. It is when hundreds of people inhabit and take on what they have prepared for months that we will behold what has been done. That is when the world of Valenor will truly come alive.

The goal with creating the different cultures are not to stipulate how everyone should be thinking or acting, but rather to give everyone a common base to jump of from. When the event starts all the cultural background will have been put to question - all the old morals and ways of life of the characters will be turned upside down. Cinderhillians will face the fact that an immortal god just have been killed. Dragontamers are faced with a people, which they were suppose to save from a dragon, fighting to protect that beast. The Witches have a choice to make – do they hurt others for their own freedom and happiness?
