Covering the dragon (Sanni)

Dragonbane Diary
Tuesday, June 6th, 2006
Dragon Ranch, Loimaa, Finland

Yesterday evening my welding-skilled brother Olli and I arrived at the dragon camp in Loimaa, Finland. We are supposed to finish the dragon during these summer months so the camp is now operating non-stop. Vesa and Epa were already present and Eero came after us. We watched Vesa's brand new kung fu movie and fell asleep.

The next morning when Heiko arrived we had a meeting and decided that I'll take control over timetables of him, Epa and the workshop. This far I have collected a "to do" -list that I could cover my walls with.

Today we've been fixing the shaping structures of the dragon and attaching wavy metal plates to them. The other major job was protecting newly welded surfaces from corrosion. My brother kept welding while Vesa and Eero fixed the plates. I cleaned the structures from oil and dirt and sprayed them with zinc until we ran out of it. Epa was in town to get some food and tools.

I guess the dragon is really starting to look like something. Today an aeroplane curved around the place, going above our heads three times in a row. I don't know what they were doing but I tried to wave to them.

We proceeded quite well all the day, and when food came, I went to the kitchen to prepare food for us. I made a nice and easy soup and cleaned the room, which I found very necessary. While cooking I called Heiko to bring more zinc paint.

Soon after that I heard that we'd had a fire inside the machine. A welding spark had ingited ancient oil and wood inside the harvester core. Water didn't do a thing so they had to use a extinguisher to put the fire out. Afterwards everything was covered with a light blue corrosive layer. In the afternoon I kept on painting the zinced structures with red and black paint and the dragon got more metallic covers. We also cleaned the traces of the extinguisher.

We got a lot of things done tonight. When Heiko came and brought new parts for the neck and the tail, we carried the tools inside and finished this day's work.

Soon after that we built a barbeque place from bricks in the middle of the flowery field and made some salad and other good foods. The time is about ten p.m. and the sun is still shining. All the other people are sitting outside already, I think I'm going too. Greetings from the red divinity.
