Secret preparations made (Esa)
Building camp report
Monday 8.8.2005
Åsen, Sweden
The day was really sunny. It was difficult to believe that just yesterday it had rained in biblical proportions.
Max started his electrical analysis of the school and our equipment.
Erik, Davide, Bruno, Giulia, Veronica and Gian were taken to the building site at 10.30. They began building the floor for longhouse #3 and made more pieces for the wall module D. Approximately three quarters of the floor was completed. We now have enough pieces and personnel to start producing the rest of the modules tomorrow.
Esa, Gabriele and Ermanno went out for a supply run, pretty much everything that was needed was found but it took surprisingly long time, largely due to Esa's cock ups. Max had the necessary tools to finish his analysis. Lunch wasn't until 17 o'clock. We unloaded the roof tiles, took some of our most precious tools with us in the trailer, in case the thieves decide to pop in, and left the site at 20 o'clock.
Gabriele and Ermanno were on kitchen duty.
Antti and Aleksi arrived to Åsen by Elges Ford Sierra at 18.30.
Electrical diagnosis by Max Warton:
- The big frying pan: it doesn't work at the moment, but can be easily repaired when I have the tools from the bus (only a cable shoe is broken)
- Pizza oven: checked the resistors and the motor but can’t check the solid state relays. We have two of them and I’m sure that we can fix at least one of them.
- Big dough mixer: it’s ok but in a bad shape. It needs maintenance (liquid grease in the special hole, dismount the motor fan protection and clean the whole part, grease the gear and bearing inside)
- Socket problem at the school: is fixed. The main fuses of the upper level are in the boiler room but pay attention that they are fused only with 16A
Note:
Max needs to know the accurate postal address for the school for Timo to send the compressor oil, liquid grease and other materials over.
General notes:
Erik is leaving for his home in Leksand tomorrow morning. He will be back by noon next Wednesday.
The building site was visited by a Swedish-Spanish group that was impressed by our effort. Another group tried to visit us in the evening but since the road was blocked by the tile unloading job they decided to pull right back though we offered them a guided tour.
Certain "secret" preparations are being made due to Veronica's approaching birthday.
