Starting young - Dragonbane meeting in Umeå (Kerstin)

In the afternoon I arrived at the SKAUMA place in the town. SKAUMA is the medieval society in the town of Umeå. Love, Elge and some of the participants from the northern part of Sweden were there. Elge had some Cinderhillian clothes with him. I really wanted to check them out. I’ve printed the patterns, but it’s not so easy to understand how the clothes are going to be when you just see the pattern. The clothes are beautiful and it’s going to be interesting to see both men and women in these dresses. Elge also hade three latex daggers with him. Our best warrior, Micke age 2½, started a battle. One really should start in time.

Elge showed us a slideshow of costumes, the dragon, the game area and after we swapped from one bad computer to a working one, we also saw the trailer for the Dragontamers duel. There you can talk about an inspirational movie.

Elge told us about the scene before the larp starts. Unlike ordinary stories, we start with the end. The big battle is over, and the question is: what happens now?

It was funny to meet other larpers. I’m going to be a Cinderhillian and actually I didn’t have a clue what the other groups, the dragontamers and the witches, do.

There were a lot of children at the meeting. I really hope that there will be a lot of kids and hopefully some older larpers to. We want to make Valenor a real world and in a real world there are people of different ages. I want to create a daily life, in spite of the war, death and destruction around us. You still need to eat, drink and make love.
