Danish promotion tour finishing off (Morten)

Dragonbane Diary
Thursday, April 20th, 2006
Aarhus, Denmark

Danish Dragonbane activity has exploded. It seems that we are now the third biggest represented nation in the project. That is some leap, and we are very proud of it. We are also happy to see participants coming from many different places in Denmark.

We are slowly moving towards the end of our promotion tour, finishing off by us going to the international larp convention Knutpunkt in Sweden (hopefully to meet many other Dragonbane-participants there).

After that we are looking forward to starting our workshops. Making costumes is one thing but we really look forward to making all those small knick-knack things to bring, like costumized eating gear, small purses, bags, instruments and such. I guess this in some way is part of the character creation process. Clothes really do make people …

We have been lucky that Danish Palnatoke (who provides all the weapons for Dragonbane) will give us a couple of training daggers – so we are going to do duel training for all the tamer participants who are willing to show up in my garden on a weekly basis.

We are trying as hard as we can to make the logistic puzzle work out. If we succeed our German friends will meet us in Denmark and we will together travel to Dragonbane, then we will afterwards stuff some additional Swedes into the bus and all go back to Denmark, party for a couple of days and then go to a big 4-day larp in Denmark. Phew – that is going to be a rough but fun ride!

Most of us here share the same view: We know and understand that when you stuff many wonderful people from different places and even different countries into a bus and send them out into the wilderness - they will have great fun together. But I have to admit that I still can’t really fit into my head the scale and magnitude of the event the bus actually transports us to… Is this really happening?
