Dragonbane Update August 2005

Press release August 15th, 2005

August updates in short:
Village rising on the game location in Älvdalen, Sweden, pictures online. Costume pictures published. Dragon skeleton delivered, assembly starting. Character sendout started. Partner list growing by the week. Local publicity growing.

The village
A year before the actual Dragonbane event, the construction of the village Cinderhill is well on its way at the game location in Älvdalen. A multinational team of Dragonbane members have been building the village for most of July and August, and the building will continue into September. At today’s date, the walls and floors of the four long houses are ready and standing. The building of the roofs will start this week. We’re still on schedule, albeit we’ve had to make some strategy changes along the way.

Costumes
The costume compendium is ready and pictures of the example costumes have been published on the Dragonbane website.

The Dragon
The Dragon skeleton, a 30 ft foresting machine from Ponsse, was delivered last month and is now located at our Dragon workshop in Loimaa, Finland. Parts are being made and the assembly will gain speed as soon as the village building is completed for this year.

Characters
The sendout of character skeletons started in August. Character coaches are being prepared to start the development of the characters together with the participants. We now have character coaches for Swedes, Finns, Frenchmen and Italians. More character coaches are still welcome!

Publicity
A local paper, Mora Tidning, had a feature story about the village building at the beginning of August. The article resulted in a lot of help from the local community, donation of old things that will put a nice touch to the village.

Partners
The Dragonbane partner list now has some 70 names to it. We are glad to see that local companies in Älvdalen have teamed up with Dragonbane during the building camp. New partners include both local companies and private persons.
