Traditional paint company colours Cinderhill

Finnish manufacturer of old fashioned paint, Uulatuote, will be giving the village of Cinderhill its colour. Uulatuote has agreed to supply the Dragonbane project with paint needed for all the buildings in the village.

The longhouses will be painted with a traditional oil paint, based on linseed oil and lamp oil, that has been used already for some centuries. The paint is especially suited for wooden surfaces as it gives the house a breathing surface. All paint will match the colour scheme of the Cinderhill culture derived from the Dragon deity; red, orange and yellow.

The Cinderhill temple will be covered by white chalk paste used already by the ancient Romans.

Uulatuote will also be supplying the Dragonbane project with smoke black dye which will be used for the Cinderhill scenery after the big battle.

Uulatuote is a paint factory located in Kauvatsa, Finland. It was established in 1975 at a time when it was almost impossible to find traditional paints and raw materials. With the National Board of Antiquities and Historical Monuments support, and helped by the advice and experiences of the "old masters", the company started to manufacture traditional paints. Uulatuote has retailers in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Holland, Germany and France.
